The book

Follow the White Fox is an illustrated story that traces a boy’s life through time and the experiences that shape him — inwardly and outwardly. At the heart of his transformation is a bond he forms with a mysterious white fox: a quiet, enduring presence who walks beside him through moments of fear, heartbreak, wonder, and change.

The white fox is no ordinary companion. Neither fully of this world nor apart from it, the fox moves with a calm and knowing stillness, becoming his guide, his comfort, and — above all — his friend.

Follow the White Fox invites readers of all ages to reflect on their own journeys, to consider the unseen forces that accompany and transform them, and to listen more deeply to the unfolding story within their own lives.

You can read the book and see it’s illustrations on our instagram and facebook pages. We would love for you to order an old fashioned copy so you can read it under the covers like we did in the olden days.

The author & illustrator

Ben Goodgame is an American doctor, artist, and storyteller who believes that the best journeys are the ones you don’t plan. He is triple board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Intensive Care, but his first degree was in Architecture — a hint at his lifelong love of creating.

Ben grew up in Uganda, studied in Texas, and now lives with his family in New Zealand. His life has been shaped by adventure, heartbreak, healing, and the quiet, constant companionship of the Holy Spirit. Follow the White Fox is the culmination of twelve years of hidden work — painting, writing, and learning to listen more closely to the quiet voice that leads us through grief and into hope.

Though not a memoir, this story carries threads from Ben’s own life — a childhood spent wide-eyed in wild places, a marriage that was rebuilt, a family that crossed oceans to find space for restoration. The fox in this story is the Holy Spirit, gently and persistently calling us to trust the path, even when it winds through sorrow.

Ben is a husband, a father, and a lover of adventure — but above all, he is someone who knows that the truest stories are the ones where we do not walk alone.
