Description
As the Host and Property Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, nurturing a culture of hospitality, adventure, creativity and transformation — while partnering with the owners to develop a sustainable vision and future of Hideaway Point. We seek either a mature individual, a responsible family or couple with healthy relationships, powerful communication and organizational skills, and a foundational faith in Jesus to become a vital part of our Hideaway Point team.
The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the owners regarding the care of Hideaway’s guests and the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities. There is the option to include groundskeeping responsibilities in this role for candidates interested in incorporating this in negotiations.
Accommodations and salary
We are seeking the right person/family/couple to join our close-knit team and are therefore open to negotiating the remuneration package to mutually benefit all parties.
This is a part-time role with the ability to add the additional groundskeeping role if desired. The offer includes a comfortable, fully furnished home on the Hideaway Point property (fully or partially discounted) in the negotiations.
The home includes three and a half bedrooms, two bathrooms, a hot tub, and a gorgeous view of the Smoky Mountains surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. The onsite accommodation provides the opportunity to engage your love for hospitality and making others feel welcomed, in a more integrated way.
The offsetting of accommodation and salary will depend on the number of hours the right candidate can commit to, and there is the option to include groundskeeping responsibilities in this role for candidates interested in incorporating this in negotiations.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience in hospitality/hosting (bed and breakfast, retreat or larger facilities), general experience with booking platforms like Lodgify, Airbnb and general bookkeeping experience (Quickbook) would be advantageous. Someone with marketing or promotional experience would be desirable but not an absolute.
Key Operational Responsibilities
Bookings — Maintains an up-to-date and organized booking system, ensuring accurate records of reservations, check-ins, and check-outs while communicating with guests for booking confirmations, cancellations, and modifications.
Cleaning — Schedules the cleaning responsibilities at the property. Ensuring that the homes are in excellent condition for guest check-ins. Works with cleaners to ensure inventory is up to date - purchasing and restocking essential items and replacing things as necessary.
Maintenance — Supervises landscaping and grounds maintenance. Conducts routine inspections to identify and address repair or maintenance needs. Proposes and implements improvements to enhance the transformative culture we seek to develop at Hideaway Point.
Hospitality and guest interactions — Provides attentive guest service, balancing their needs with personal boundaries, to create a warm and hospitable atmosphere. Strives for meaningful connections with guests through prayerful engagement, listening, and healthy communication.
PERSONALITY
We are looking for someone naturally warm and approachable with the gift of hospitality. Someone with a heart of stewardship, willing to help share the responsibility for the property and the vision of Hideaway Point. It would be desirable for the candidate to be an initiator or developer, helping come up with creative, innovative and proactive ideas to help grow the business.
